Weeks 21-26 for Baby J #3!

How far along?
21 weeks and 1 day.
21 weeks and 5 days.

Sleep:
Not bad. I get plenty but am usually still pretty tired. Gotta make a regular
habit of exercising again because I’m sure that would probably help.

Best moment this week:
So many good ones! It was my birthday last week and the week
was filled with people and food and fun. Monday I went to dinner
and dessert with my best girlfriends and that was a blast. Tuesday
was my actual birthday and I went to lunch with my mom, Shay,
Natalie and Taylor and the boys. We had Cubby’s which is always
great. That night Taylor had scouts so I actually didn’t see him for long.
He had picked up a CrustClub dinner pie and we had that and then he
had Crumble cookies delivered to our house. So most of my birthday
was spent with just me and the boys and I was kinda bummed about it.
But the next few days were great. I went to target alone (mini vacay!) and
then on Saturday we went and picked up our new-to-us car and went to
Tucanos for lunch. That night Taylor and I went on a date to see “A Quiet Place”
and we shared an ice cream at Culver’s. SO all in all, it was a great, very fattening week. Ha!

Worst moment this week:
Letting myself get bummed about my birthday.

Movement:
Tons! And Taylor has been able to feel more, too!

Symptoms:
Tired. Occasional headache.

Food cravings:
Whatever sounds good in the moment.

Food aversions:
None at the moment.

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
No.

Belly Button in or out?
In.

What I miss:
I miss when I wasn’t getting a million phone calls from a crazy
lady on a blocked number. It’s a realllllly long story for another day
but I’m hoping to get it figured out soon!

What I am looking forward to:
Appointment next week for my anatomy ultrasound!

Milestones:
Baby is 10.5 inches and 12.7 ounces- almost a pound! He’s as big
as an endive/baby bok choy and getting chubbier and cuter all the time!

(no survey or picture for week 22)

How far along?
23 weeks and 3 days.
23 weeks and 1 day.

Sleep:
Alright, actually. Could be worse so I’m enjoying what I can get
now. I still wake up tired no matter what, though. Haha. #momlife

Best moment this week:
Curtis and Desiree got married on Friday! It was a beautiful day
and the boys were actually really well behaved (with the exception
of when they had to be in pictures, but what’re ya gonna do? ha.) It
was a long day for sure but so fun and happy.

We also had our anatomy ultrasound on Thursday. Everything looks
good they said! They said that one of baby’s kidneys was a little dilated
but that it very likely means nothing. Just that he might have needed to
pee :) They are going to check it again at 32 weeks and hopefully by then e
verything will look normal!

Worst moment this week:
My best friend Tessa moved to California. *cue tears* She has been
my rock these last four years especially, as we both were flung into
motherhood at the same time (literally our oldest children were born
within two and a half weeks of each other). It won’t be the same, not
having her ten minutes down the road, but I’m grateful for modern
technology and that we can stay in touch in many different ways. :)

Movement:
SO much! Little guy is so active and it’s getting fun to be able to see t
he movements from the outside now! He even moved so hard yesterday
that it caught me off guard and took my breath away! Haha.

Symptoms:
Mainly tired.

Food cravings:
Peanut butter. Bread.

Food aversions:
Nothing really.

Gender:
Boy.

Labor Signs:
No.

Belly Button in or out?
In, but starting to get flatter each week as my belly gets bigger.

What I miss:
The days when my children weren’t so sassy. Send help please. Haha.

What I am looking forward to:
In about a month now, I’ll be jumping into my last trimester which is crazy
and kind of makes things more real!

Weekly Wisdom:
This past Monday (April 30), was my original due date for the baby
that we lost last September. The day came and went and the whole time I
just couldn’t believe that it had been that long since we had gone through
our miscarriage. It really was such an incredibly difficult and sad time, but
at the same time, I knew that everything was going to work out how it should.
It’s hard to not get what you want when you want it, but I know that God has our
best interest in mind and His plan is perfect. And also that hindsight is 20/20 :)

Milestones:
Baby is the size of a bunch of grapes, a little more than a foot tall, and weighs
around a pound and a half.

How far along?
24 weeks and 1 day.
(no picture this week)

Sleep:
Can’t complain yet, but I am still really tired no matter how much I sleep.

Best moment this week:
We decided to move our kitchen renovation up a week and so we are
starting that this week instead of next week! Everything should be able
to be finished this week, depending on whether or not we can get them to
get our countertops in by Friday!

Worst moment this week:
We got a new-to-us car a few weeks ago and have had soooooo many
issues with it. It really is so frustrating because everything is unforseen.
Anyway, our car is back in the shop again (for the FOURTH time) and it has
been there since last Tuesday (it is now Monday) and we won’t be getting it
until at least Wednesday. We already had a lot of things done to it the second
time we took it in ($$$) and then the check engine light went back on, taken a
third time where they fixed what they thought it was and didn’t charge us. Then
the light came on once again and the code was reading as the exact same
thing it always had. They towed it to their shop for us free of charge and that’s
where it has been since Tuesday. It is needing a new big part that happens to
be broken and it normally costs a lot of money. They are giving us a hefty
discount because we’ve been through the ringer with it. But it still stinks.
I am hoping and praying this solves the problem because quite literally I don’t
know what they’d do if it didn’t. And I’m trying to see the positive in this. If
they had found this problem the first time we were there and got all the repairs,
we likely would have paid full price and we would have been paying a lot more
money. SO I guess I’m grateful they didn’t see this problem? Silver linings, I suppose!

Movement:
This baby is a crazy, wild one!
Symptoms:
Tired and cranky. I am short tempered lately and the struggles
with the car and my children being especially naughty haven’t helped at all.

Food cravings:
Watermelon. Peanut butter. Ice cold water.

Food aversions:
None, really.

Gender:
Still a boy!

Labor Signs:
Nope.

Belly Button in or out?
In still, but ever flattening.

What I miss:
Temperate weather. It is so short lived here! It goes from
freezing to blazing hot in a matter of weeks. And this summer is going
to be a long and sweaty one. Send all tips, please.

What I am looking forward to:
I have another ultrasound in a couple or so weeks, so I’m excited
to see baby again! And hopefully he cooperates next time and l
et’s us see his face!

Weekly Wisdom:
The insulin resistance that I knew was coming is here. It’s like a switch
in my body flipped and now managing eating and taking insulin is
SO difficult. Gotta figure out how to survive the next three months!

Milestones:
Baby is as big as a cantaloupe! And my belly is ever growing!

How far along?
25 weeks 1 day.
(no picture this week)

Sleep:
Decent, actually! I haven't been waking up a bunch to pee, so that's
nice. Usually only once! And last night not at all!

Best moment this week:
Taylor and I had a “staycation/babymoon” aka staying home and
renovating our kitchen and bathrooms! My wonderful mother in law
and father in law (and sister Jane!!) watched the boys on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday till we got there around dinner time. They helped
in the yard, played in the water, watched Peter Rabbit, planted flowers
and just had the best time. They love having such a huge yard to explore!
We would not have been able to do this project with them here at the house.
We have empty cabinets with no doors, boxes of food and kitchen/bathroom
appliances and knick knacks in our living room...our house is a disaster. Haha.
But we finished our cabinets!! And they look pretty dang good…(but if you don't
agree just lie to me and say they do! Haha) We also painted the vanity cabinets
and boxes and painted the walls in the upstairs bathroom. This Friday we will
get our counters delivered and installed in the kitchen and bathroom and
then we can start backsplash when they're finished! I'll be honest, I'm
excited to have this project done and get my house back in order because t
he disarray is stressing me out. But it will be worth it when it's finished!

Worst moment this week:
I have been feeling the onslaught of the insulin resistance hitting
me and it's hard!! Makes me wanna go on a no carb, no sugar
diet HA. But really it is so hard.

Movement:
Lots and more forceful! I can feel him sliding body parts along
the inside of my belly. Those movements are the craziest!

Symptoms:
Tired is really my only symptom (beside accompanying diabetes
ones) at this point. I don't expect the tired to go away anytime soon haha.

Food cravings:
We had Cheesecake Factory this week during one of our working days
and it was delicious!

Food aversions:
None.

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
Nope!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

What I miss:
Having a cleaner house haha.

What I am looking forward to:
Having the kitchen finished! And having my next ultrasound in a
week and a half or so!

Weekly Wisdom:
Big projects like this are really hard not pregnant and even
harder while pregnant. I feel like I could sleep for a week! Ha.

Milestones:
Just a few weeks away from the last trimester! Tucker came
10 weeks from the point I'm at now and Benson came 11 weeks
from now! Hopefully this baby will come 12 from now!

How far along?
26 weeks and 3 days.
26 weeks and 3 days.

Sleep:
Not bad! I actually haven’t been waking up in the night to pee
which is so weird, especially for the stage I’m getting to in pregnancy.
I just need to go to bed earlier! We’ve had a lot of late nights the last
couple weeks.

Best moment this week:
Getting our kitchen/bathroom remodel project almost
done! We had counters put in last Friday and they look awesome!

Worst moment this week:
I had another really low blood sugar episode and it was not fun.
I’m glad I don’t really get them anymore (in the beginning the
frequency in which I got them was crazy). And I’m super grateful
for Taylor for taking care of me when it happens.

Movement:
Tons and all the time! This baby is a wild child. Lots of hard
(and getting harder) punches and kicks and rolls of body parts
along the inside of my belly. Feels so weird but I love it!

Symptoms:
Heartburn. Tired.

Food cravings:
I have been craving carbonation more lately. Which isn’t the best,
I know. But I will ocassionally go get a Diet Coke from McDonald’s
(theirs is the best) and it really hits the spot. Today I got a Diet Strawberry
Limeade from Sonic and it was oh-so good.
Also Chick-fil-A. That might be my biggest craving this pregnancy.
I got a chicken biscuit for breakfast today (don’t judge. Our
kitchen is a disaster and we desperately need to go grocery
shopping- but it’s kinda pointless right now. And only our
microwave is hooked up to cook things, sooooo... haha) anyways,
the chicken biscuit hit all the spots this morning. SO GOOD.

Food aversions:
Not really.

Gender:
Another little BOY!

Labor Signs:
Nope.

Belly Button in or out?
In, but the top is starting to poke out a little.

What I miss:
Being smaller. Haha!

What I am looking forward to:
Being done with our kitchen and bathrooms. We are so
close and it will be such a relief to be done.

Milestones:

Baby is as big as a butternut squash! Over 2 pounds now.
And we will likely be meeting him in less than 12 weeks!
That’s less than 3 months! And less than 90 days! AH!
