NINE months!

time is still flying away! our little buddy is now NINE months!
he is 75% of the way through his first year of life! i cannot even believe that.

this age that he is at right now has by far been my favorite so far. Tucker is SO much fun!
he has a cute and silly little personality and there are definitely defining characteristics of who he is as a little person and i love getting to learn new things about him!

He started "crawling" around 7.5 months and has been trying to perfect it since then. he is still doing the army crawl, but as of today has really figured out a real crawl! He does the army crawl most often, but he is a lot faster now! he can properly crawl when he doesn't have anywhere to be in a hurry ;) he just prefers the faster way as of now, obviously!

He is pulling himself up onto his knees with any object or piece of furniture that is available to him! He does it most often in his crib but will use a toy basket, our love sac, the couch, our bodies...just about anything! He can get onto his feet, too, but he is a lot less steady as of now.

He LOVES socks, feet, and shoes. It doesn't matter if they're his own or not, or if they are on feet or not- he loves them! Socks will last on his feet all of about ten minutes if we are lucky. He'll rip them off and suck on them...yummy ;) And he likes to inspect mine and Taylor's feet and shoes as well.

He's great about feeding himself finger foods and loves eating! His favorite is still banana with pretty much anything. But he loves: mushed banana, sweet potato and greek yogurt...i know, gross right? He loves cottage cheese, banana mum mums, avocado, all kinds of fruits, and toast. He really just loves to eat in general.

He loves loves water and bath time is his favorite. He'd stay in there forever if the water wouldn't get cold! Gotta take this kid to the pool and splash pads this summer!

He loves to pick something up in one hand and something else in the other hand and smack them together. He loves slapping his hands down on his high chair, too. And his new favorite is "playing" the guitar. He would crawl up to it and smack the base and try and pluck the string. I had to end up hiding it from him. Ha. But we have gotta get this kid some drums or something!

He is so so curious about everything. If I leave the room for even a minute, he will come looking for me. Our home isn't very big by any means, so sometimes I'll let him play while I go do something, like my hair for instance. But he will find me and crawl into the bathroom and take everything in sight out of its place. So naughty :)

He is so ticklish and loves to play and wrestle with Taylor. He likes to be roughed up a little bit, too. He loves when Tay throws him in the air and he lands in the bean bag. A new thing he discovered he likes is when Taylor throws him on his tummy on our bed and he'll push himself backwards off the edge of the bed and Taylor will catch him at the bottom and then throw him back up. He'd do this forever if we let him. I'll say, "Buh-bye, see ya later!" And he thinks it's the funniest thing.

He had two official bottom teeth and one is now poking through on the top! So cute. He will munch on little food things with his teeth, too. It's the cutest.

He's not a huge fan of watching TV or anything. He's too busy and energetic to sit still. Haha. But sometimes I will have the TV going while we are home because it makes the house not so quiet. It makes me feel like I'm not actually home alone...which I'm not! I'm with my buddy. But I am a huge fan of background or white noise. I think I turn his noise maker on at night more for me (I can hear it through the monitor) and I sleep with a fan on...pointed away from me. Hahah. Like a giant baby! Anyway, back to the point. In the morning when i give him his bottle, I'll prop him in the boppy and hand it to him. The other day I needed to get ready because we had to go out before his nap. So I plopped him in the boppy and put on "Fox and the Hound". (I don't even like this movie because it's too sad. Ha!) But I was in the other room for about 15 minutes and he was awfully quiet, so I peeped my head around the corner to check on him and he was STILL in the same spot drinking his bottle and watching! He stayed this way for more than 20 minutes! I don't know if you all understand the magnitude of this, but usually he will drink for all of two minutes and then roll on his tummy and crawl somewhere. So this was definitely a cute thing to witness. He also will watch Baby Einstein or Wallykazam (which is the cutest. It teaches them about words, sounds, and letters.)

He will eat a bottle about every six hours (or around 4 times a day). And he has a breakfast, lunch and dinner "meal". So a typical schedule for us (because I know sometimes friends and family are curious what we do all day ;) is:

-8-9 wake up. Then we will have breakfast. He will play for a little bit and then have a bottle (usually around 6 ounces.) and when it's been around 1.5-2 hours after waking up, he will go down for a nap.
-He will usually take a 2 hour nap. So he is almost always up from that nap around 12-1, depending on when he woke up that day.
-When he wakes up we will have lunch and then I'll give him another bottle. Then we'll run errands, go outside, have a playdate or just play depending on the day.
-Two or more hours after he's been awake he will go down for his second nap.
-He's hopefully awake from that nap around 6/7 and he'll eat dinner with us and have a small bottle.
-We'll relax and play with daddy and then he gets ready for bed around 8:30/9...hopefully we can find a way to get this done earlier. The earlier he goes to bed, the earlier he will wake up. So we just gotta figure that one out.
-We have a nighttime routine of a bath, lotion, snuggles and reading, and then he has a big bottle with his dad.
Pretty exciting day! :)

Still has the biggest case of FOMO (fear of missing out). If Taylor and I ever work out in our living room when he's awake, he will just whine and cry the whole time. Haha. Makes for a difficult workout. So sometimes I use him as a weight :) He thinks that's pretty funny. Or if someone leaves the room, he will go looking for them or try and find out where voices are coming from. As soon as someone pays attention to him, he's golden!

He does this super cute thing where he will grab one of his hands in the other and look at it like, "What the heck is this??" He will turn it over and over in his hand and inspect it. If you are familiar with Lord of the Rings, it is quite reminiscent of Gollum holding the Ring of Power in his hand saying, "My Preciousssss." Seriously. Every time he does it, that's what I think. Ha. My inner nerd coming out :)

He has said/can say: dada, mum mum (only really says this when he's frustrated or needs me- ha!), rah rah, hey, hi. And he just speaks a lot of gibberish. Our favorite thing he says is, "oh gog". haha.

He loves: tags, shiny things, jewelry, rugs, remotes, logos on shirts, mouths/tongues, monkeys, music, cellphones, and just about anything else he's not "allowed" to have. ;)

Tucker has been sick a few times this season. So sad. The last couple days he's felt crummy, but has still be in good spirits for the majority of the time. He is cutting his top tooth, so I'm sure that doesn't feel great, either. We went to Sandy Beach in Spanish Fork today to celebrate his nine monthiversary and the beautiful weather, too! Today is kind of a special day. Four years ago on this day, I found out I had Stage II Hodgkin's Lymphoma. If you asked me then what my life would look like four years later I definitely wouldn't have described the life I'm living now. I've been so blessed. I am healthy. I have the most fun, cutest, best little boy and a better, more loving husband than I could have ever dreamed of. The blessings continue to pour in from every corner of my life.

So here's to Tuck's nine months and my four years!

The best has yet to come.
